We have been having so much fun with Luvy’s parents! However, today we worked them hard.
Today, they helped us till up our garden and plant a few things. Luvy and his dad tilled while me and Mary Ann went to the gardening store to get the veggies and herbs to plant.
Mary Ann and Craig are great gardeners, so we loved that they were able to help us out!
We ended up planting:
- tomatoes
- peppers- bell and jalapeno
- kale
- collard greens
- green beans
- beets
- okra
- herbs: cilantro, basil, mint, peppermint
We already had rosemary, chives, and oregano.
Also, we expanded our garden this year! We made a small squash garden.
We planted zucchini, yellow squash, butternut squash, and pink banana squash.
I had never heard of a pink banana squash before. Luvy’s parents gave us the seeds for it. It is supposed to be a HUGE squash that can weigh up to 15-20lbs! We may be in for treat! Lol… I’ll keep y’all posted!
We sure do know how to make people feel welcome by working them hard.
Now, we are relaxing on the couch and watching a movie.
I am going to be sad to see them go!!
Hope you all are having a great weekend!
Do you all grow a garden? What do you like to grow?

I am so jealous. I love fresh grown veggies and herbs. It makes them taste even better just knowing you helped create them. I used to have a garden when I was home – a pesky groundhog made it very difficult in the long run.
Oh yes! We have a dog next door that likes to dig in our garden. That isn’t too helpful.
No garden yet, but that would be a goal of mine at some point in life.
PS. Looking forward to updates on the giant squash. I am up to look that up now!
Having a garden is great! It will be crazy if that squash comes up! I’ll need help eating it all!
It looks like you have a nice big space for a garden! It is still way to cold here to plant outside
Bummer! I hope it warms up for you soon!
It looks like you are going to have a wonderful garden this year. I hope you get a bumper crop.
Thanks Karen! Me too!
That’s exciting to see how everything turns out! I don’t have a garden, but maybe someday!
Oh you need to do one sometime! It is so fun! By the way.. I absolutely LOVE your blog name!
