Show the Love

Luvy and I are a pair today.

Yesterday, I tried running and it was a no go… My knee is hurting pretty bad today.  This may be too much information, but I also have a catch in my tush… is that possible?!?  It was hilarious trying to watch me clean the shower today.

Luvy woke up this morning with a crick in his neck.  He is walking around without moving his head.  It is pretty funny to see.

We are falling apart, but at least we have each other to laugh at!

We had plans to go to Walmart and to the movies today, but that didn’t happen.  We did work on school stuff, got the house cleaned, and made dinner!

Pretty good dinner if I say so myself.  Butternut squash and millet salad with roasted brussels sprouts.

Today, I realized that several people have asked me about commenting on the blog… how to do it… is it secure… why do you need to put in a name and e-mail addy, etc.

I love love love when you all leave me love notes on the blog.  (If you leave hate notes- that’s okay too.  Just know I have the right to delete them.)  :)

To leave me some love just click the little icon that is on the top right of the post.  It looks like a little comment blurb.

It is secure.  All your information is completely confidential.  It has you to put a name on there that will be published.  So, don’t put lovemunchkins if you don’t want it published  mmmmkay??

Also, if you don’t want your last name published, leave it off as well.  It has you put in an e-mail addy that way I can respond to you directly if you have a question that would be better answered in an e-mail.  Also, that e-mail does not go anywhere else.  It is also there to make sure that Viagra or some other computer generated system or spam doesn’t start posting on my blog.

Also, you all know that you can always contact me via e-mail at delightsanddelectables (at) gmail.com

Thanks for all the love you all have shown me and continue to show me!

Instead of going to the movies, Luvy and I rented one.  :)  Off to the couch!

How was your Saturday??

Switching it up

Since I can’t run anymore, I’ve been having trouble with getting bored with my exercise routine.

I love to spin, but I refuse to pay for a gym membership.  So, I have been trying out workout DVD’s.

Insight used to have free workouts On Demand, but that is gone now.  I am still bummed about that!

When I first got hurt, I decided to keep up with my high intensity exercise, and I took on Shaun T’s Insanity program.

Let me just say, this program is NOT for the faint of heart or for a beginner.  This was literally insane!  I love it though.  Whenever I need a good workout, I still pop in one of the videos.

It comes with a two sets of discs, a nutritional plan (which I didn’t follow), plus a workout planner/calendar.  The first set of DVD’S are used for the first 30 days and then you move up to the second set.

The first set is about 40 or so minutes long, and it pushes you.  The second month is an hour-long and it pushes you until you can go no more!

I loved having the calendar tell me exactly what to do and not having to plan out a workout.  Now, I understand the importance of weight training along with cardio, so I wish that there was more weight training involved.

There are push-ups, squats, and things like that but nothing that is going to really tone you up.

There is a 16 minute ab workout that Shaun T also includes, and it is great!  Your abs will definitely be feeling the work!

This is just my two cents on Insanity.  I am not a personal trainer.  Please always consult your physician before trying any new workout program.

I quit doing Insanity a few months ago, because I felt like my body needed a break from the high intensity workouts.  I had been looking for a new DVD set, and I finally found one to try out.  Time to switch things up!

My new set is Bob Harper’s Inside Out Method.  Here we go…

Have any of you tried Insanity?  What is your favorite workout or workout DVD?

“Feel Sorry for Me” Soup

What a day!  I still feel like I’m trying to catch myself!

My day started out with my appointment to the orthopedic for a verdict on my knee.  What I thought was going to be a quick and simple appointment turned into me getting another cortisone shot!

The good news is that he says I don’t have a torn meniscus.  The bad news is that they don’t know what is wrong.  Not much of a verdict, but I’ll take not having anything torn!

From there, I raced off to my meeting with a professor of mine.  I was there until 1:30- good thing I like her!!  :)

Then, I had to run to two different offices PLUS Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods before lunch.  I finally broke down and bought lunch at Whole Paycheck at 3pm.  At that point, I was considering eating the cardboard box!

Since I”m not allowed to do any activity on my knee for 2 days, I came home and iced my knee like a good girl.

Don’t judge the monkey pj’s and fuzzy socks.  My knee hurts remember??

The swelling and pain is starting to set in a bit, so I decided I would make a “I’m being a big baby so feel sorry for me dinner”.

Luv’s Feel Sorry For Me Soup
