A Day in the Life of a Birthday Girl

Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes!!  I had a wonderful day yesterday!

What’s a day in the life of a birthday girl look like??

First thing, I woke up to some beautiful flowers and a sweet card from Luvy.

He is too good to me.  :)

I took my flowers to the kitchen and read my daily devotional on Prayer that I do with SheReadsTruth. (Have I told you all how much I love that study??)

Then, Luvy took time out of his office and writing to have breakfast with me.  I made us both a big bowl of oats.

Luvy had to run into work, so I jumped into workout clothes.  I shook up some Fitmixer aminos and did a great, sweaty lower body workout on YouTube.  I’ll have to share some of my favorite workouts here soon!

I got to talk to a few friends and family members yesterday morning also.

That afternoon, I got to hang out with my friend Cherie for an hour or so before getting ready for my big date.  I forgot to take a picture, but lets just say… I was in orange and she was in blue.  Yet, we are still friends.  :)

I came home and got dressed, because Luvy was taking me out!!

He took me to one of my absolute favorite places… Bonefish!!

That is our go to place to celebrate anything!!  :)  I love how they wrote “Happy Birthday Brittany” on the specials!  They made sure to make my time there very special.

Luvy got the shrimp and scallops, and I got the salmon salad.

Both were amazing.  After dinner, our waiter suprised me with a fruit cup!!  Since I can’t have dairy or gluten, they didn’t have any other desserts I could eat.  I thought that was so thoughtful!

IMG 1423

I didn’t mind not having a dessert there, because I had a very special cupcake waiting on me at home.

Remember the cupcakes that were given to me at the gluten free fair??

IMG 1427

They were amazing!!

Luvy even sang me Happy Birthday so I could blow out my candle.  :)

When Luvy was eating his he said, “This is gluten free?!?!”.  I have a feeling that Deliciously Free will be bought again and again here!

Thanks again for all your birthday wishes!

Now, I have to get back to work…. real life is calling.

How was your Monday?

What are you looking forward to this week?

MIMM I’m 27 Today!

Happy Monday!  You know what that means… It’s Marvelous in My Monday with my friend Katie!

Today is extra marvelous, because it is my 27th birthday!!  :)

It doesn’t really feel like my birthday, because I’m usually an all week long celebrater.  Since Luvy is having to spend all his time and effort on getting a part of his dissertation written so he can defend his prospectus, it hasn’t really been a birthday weekend.  BUT that is okay, because I know his hard work will pay off and we will both be better off for it!

Even though he is super busy, he still makes my birthday marvelous.  I woke up to these flowers and his sweet card.

IMG 1406

I had to put my contacts in to read the card!  There is nothing I love more than Luvy’s homemade cards.  Hallmark just doesn’t say things like Luvy does!

IMG 1407

Please pardon me… I just woke up!

My birthday has been marvelous already, because this weekend I also got to spend time with my beautiful friend Kelly!

IMG 1361

She and I worked on school stuff for a bit then ran around… in the rain! The rain was marvelous, because we haven’t had any in weeks!

We went shopping and we got some marvelous deals at Loft.

IMG 1366

A skirt and tank for only $20!  Plus, I had a $15 off card because it is my birthday month!!  Totally marvelous… right??

Then, we went to Rainbow Blossom where they were having a gluten free fair.  Kelly was so awesome to join me, even though she isn’t GF!  Love her!

I tasted one of Delicously Free‘s cupcakes, and fell in LOVE!  Plus they are a local company.  Rose, who owns Deliciously Free, gave me 2 whole cupcakes since it was my birthday!!  Thanks Rose!!

I made out with all kinds of fun stuff from Rainbow Blossom!

IMG 1365

Today, I’m off work for my birthday, which is also MARVELOUS!  So, I have some other fun stuff planned for my birthday.

I have big plans for those cupcakes tonight!!  :)

What is marvelous about your Monday?

How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

WIAW: Operation Eat Everything

Since you all liked it so much last week, here is my second WIAW!

So this week my eats have been nothing short of crazy.  Since we are leaving in 2 days (EEEKKK!) for vacation, we are in operation eat everything.  Not to mention that Luvy has not and will not eat at our house for a meal since last night.  So, I’m on my own…

I have been packing his lunches, which look like this:

turkey sandwich, apple, carrot sticks, and water.  He also had my brownies that I made for his class.  :)

Breakfast was a protein buckwheat bake.  Nothing short of perfect.

This is a recycled pic, but it was the exact same.

I’ve never shared this recipe on the blog, but it can be found here on Ashley’s blog.  I’ll have to post it soon on here!

Lunch was an amazing quinoa and black bean salad.

This beauty is a recipe that I came up with for a guest post for one of my favorite gals.  You all will have to wait on the recipe!  :)

My snacks were quick, but oh so good.  I had a fresh apricot.

Right after work, I had a new to me product.  I had the blueberry So Delicious Greek-style coconut milk yogurt!  It was fantastic.  Full review to come.

IMG 0810

I have a lot of things to come…. I’m just full of surprises today!

The best part of the day was dinner.

IMG 0811

We had grilled tilapia with Slap Ya Mama seasoning, grilled asparagus, green beans, and corn and quinoa salad.

IMG 0813

The meal was great, but the company was even better!  We had over our good friend JoLynn.  She is in town from North Carolina for PhD classes.  She goes to school with Luvy.

IMG 0817

God bless them both… I couldn’t do it!  I had a great time chatting girl stuff with her.  I wish she could just come and hang out for a weekend!  (Feel free anytime JoLynn!!!)

My night-time snack was just a couple of handfuls of Love Grown Granola.  We went to bed by 10pm.  We were both so exhausted from a lack of sleep.  Actually, Luvy fell asleep on the couch before then!

I don’t know why, but I ALWAYS have to eat before bed.  I think it is a habit.  Also, I always call it a “midnight snack”, because that is what we called it growing up.

Speaking of growing up… today is my Mom’s birthday!

Happy 39th(ish) (bahahaha) Birthday MOM!

We wish we could be there to celebrate with you!!!

Do you all have to eat a midnight snack?

Anyone else have to eat up everything before they go on vacation?  I can’t stand to throw anything away!

***you all will have to excuse my absence from the blog world for the rest of this week/weekend.  I MUST get us packed for vacation or else we will be going in our birthday suits on the beach.  YiKES!***
