A Day in the Life of a Birthday Girl

Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes!!  I had a wonderful day yesterday!

What’s a day in the life of a birthday girl look like??

First thing, I woke up to some beautiful flowers and a sweet card from Luvy.

He is too good to me.  :)

I took my flowers to the kitchen and read my daily devotional on Prayer that I do with SheReadsTruth. (Have I told you all how much I love that study??)

Then, Luvy took time out of his office and writing to have breakfast with me.  I made us both a big bowl of oats.

Luvy had to run into work, so I jumped into workout clothes.  I shook up some Fitmixer aminos and did a great, sweaty lower body workout on YouTube.  I’ll have to share some of my favorite workouts here soon!

I got to talk to a few friends and family members yesterday morning also.

That afternoon, I got to hang out with my friend Cherie for an hour or so before getting ready for my big date.  I forgot to take a picture, but lets just say… I was in orange and she was in blue.  Yet, we are still friends.  :)

I came home and got dressed, because Luvy was taking me out!!

He took me to one of my absolute favorite places… Bonefish!!

That is our go to place to celebrate anything!!  :)  I love how they wrote “Happy Birthday Brittany” on the specials!  They made sure to make my time there very special.

Luvy got the shrimp and scallops, and I got the salmon salad.

Both were amazing.  After dinner, our waiter suprised me with a fruit cup!!  Since I can’t have dairy or gluten, they didn’t have any other desserts I could eat.  I thought that was so thoughtful!

IMG 1423

I didn’t mind not having a dessert there, because I had a very special cupcake waiting on me at home.

Remember the cupcakes that were given to me at the gluten free fair??

IMG 1427

They were amazing!!

Luvy even sang me Happy Birthday so I could blow out my candle.  :)

When Luvy was eating his he said, “This is gluten free?!?!”.  I have a feeling that Deliciously Free will be bought again and again here!

Thanks again for all your birthday wishes!

Now, I have to get back to work…. real life is calling.

How was your Monday?

What are you looking forward to this week?

Eat for Missions

I love my church family!  Luvy and I haven’t gotten to go out to eat with them much lately due to my food allergies and tummy problems.  I’ll be sharing more about with you all here soon.

Monday night, Aspen Creek hosted a fundraiser for our church if you ate there and gave them a flyer for our church.  They donated 10% of the total bill to our church and that money goes towards missions.  I’ll go out to eat to support missions anytime!!

I was so excited when I looked at the menu and saw that they had salmon, because that meant I could eat there!  I was pleasantly surprised that I could eat here, because I can’t eat at Applebee’s or O’Charley’s and this restaurant is sort of like them.

We went with a few of our college students plus Chris and Jennifer and their 3 sweet boys!

IMG 1026

Chris co-teaches our college student’s Sunday School with Luvy and Jen is our church’s children’s director!

The food was great.  I got salmon and steamed broccoli.  They didn’t have any other sides that were dairy and gluten free, but I didn’t mind!

IMG 1024

Luvy got some chicken dish and it looked AMAZING!  I was wishing I liked chicken… :)

IMG 1023

The company was even better than the food though!  I loved spending time with everyone.

These boys hold the keys to my heart though….

and the bad part is that they know it!

These kids make my day!

I hope you all are having a fantastic week.  Just think… tomorrow is FRIDAY!

I have a 3 hour seminar to sit through tomorrow… who wants to join me on twitter and instagram from 9-12 EST??  ;)

What are you all looking forward to this weekend?

What restaurant have you been pleasantly surprised by lately?

Coming to an End…

Hey friends!

How is it Thursday already?!?!

I was so sad to leave our little beach house on Siesta Key this afternoon!

After breakfast, Luvy and I took a final walk on the beach before cleaning up and heading out.

IMG 0957

I am going to miss my daily beach walks!!  Walking through neighborhoods doesn’t start to compete with the scenery here.  :)

IMG 0953

Tonight we are staying in Orlando because we have an early flight to catch in the morning.  By early I mean we have to leave the hotel tomorrow at 4:15am!  Who wants a wake-up call???  ;)  No really…

We drove to Orlando in the rain.  It has actually been raining on us every day since Monday.  Good thing we didn’t come to the beach to get a good tan!  :)  I have found the rain to be quite relaxing.

The ducks are loving the rain.  We found these when we were at the Boardwalk here in Orlando!  Aren’t they adorable????

IMG 0979

Luvy and I also went to the outlets here.  I got two cute shirts at Ann Taylor Loft.  BOGO!!  Score!

IMG 0987

Dinner tonight was at Woodlands.  It is a vegetarian Indian restaurant.  It was awesome!  I couldn’t get a picture of the outside, because it was pouring rain!

 Woodlands on Urbanspoon

We both got a hot tea since it was raining and it was cool in the restaurant.

IMG 0982

In our classic style, we ordered 2 entrees and shared!  We got the Special Vegetable Curry with some extra spice and the Baigan Bartha.  They were both delicious, but our favorite was the Vegetable Curry.  Plus, they made everything gluten-free and dairy-free.

IMG 0983

I think the best part about it was that Luvy and I were the ONLY white folks in the restaurant.  The other 50 customers were all Indian.  To me, that’s a good sign.  If Indians will eat there, it must be good Indian food!

Now, we are tucked away in our hotel.  Luvy is going to watch the Eastern Conference Finals and then we have a hot date with Rookie Blue at 10!

I’m so sad to have our beach vaca over, but we are headed to Tennessee for our good friend’s wedding!!!

Do you all like Indian food?

So who all wants to take a girls trip back to the beach with me???
