Operation Christmas Child

Today was a great day for our college group.  After church, we all got together at Chris and Jennifer’s house to put together shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

I love going to Chris and Jennifer’s, because I love their boys.Paul is my boyfriend- he calls my curls noodles!

Davis is a quieter guy, and he has now learned to give kisses with his mouth closed!

Before we started packing, Ms. Janet made her famous lasagna for everyone.  Of course, I came home and ate before I went.  🙂 lasagna is not exactly LEAP friendly.

Cliff was so patiently waiting for his lasagna.

The boys were enjoying their eats as well!

If you are not familiar with Operation Christmas Child, it is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse.  They have people send in packed shoe boxes of gifts for children ranging in age from 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14.  Last year, over 8 million children got these boxes in over 130 countries.  When the boxes are delivered, the children are given a copy of the Gospel in their language.

It is a wonderful ministry to send gifts to these children who may not ever receive gifts for Christmas.  I challenge all of you to go to the website and pack a shoebox to send to a child in need!

All together we packed 81 boxes!!  Incredible!!  Each box had a hand written note to the child that would receive it from someone in our group.

I am so proud of this group.  They sacrificed a lot of time and funds to make this happen.

Plus, the beautiful Adrian got everything organized before the party to make sure we had everything we needed.

Unfortunately, I had a million errands and things to do today, so I had to be a party pooper and leave early.  😦

I am ready for this semester to be over with!!!  (Still love you though Dr. King!)

Grad school + working/ move + all the craziness we have had going on has made this one difficult semester.  I’m ready for Christmas break!

Have any of you ever participated in Operation Christmas Child?
