Guest Post: Fire Up the Grill!

Hey guys!  Luvy and I are on our way to the beach, so I asked my good friend Ashley to guest post today.  Ashley has been one of my favorite bloggers, but she has also become a very good friend!  I can’t thank her enough for guest posting for me today while we travel.

Hi there Delights and Delectables’ readers!  I’m Ashley, the blogger behind My Food ‘N’ Fitness Diaries, a healthy living blog that documents my adventures about two of my biggest passions – food and fitness!  I am honored to be writing for Brittany today as she is enjoying her time away on a vacation with her husband.

I live in Utah with my husband, Cody, and two kids pups, Ryan and Molly.  Summer is our favorite season since we both love being active and outdoors.  We both love to hike, travel, go on walks with the pups, camp… pretty much anything active we’ll try out!

Another thing we both love during the summer months is grilling out on our back patio.  There are so many great things about it…

  • Grilling doesn’t heat up the house.
  • You can grill pretty much anything – veggies, fruit, meat, pizza, etc.
  • Grilling can be healthy.
  • Grilled food tastes delicious.
  • Grilling makes for an easy and quick dinner clean up. 

My husband and I probably grill at least twice a week throughout the summer months.  Some of our favorite foods to grill:

  • Turkey burgers and/or hamburgers
  • Bratwurst and/or sausages
  • Steak
  • Chicken
  • Salmon
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Asparagus
  • Corn on the cob
  • Zucchini
  • Tomatoes
  • Pineapple
  • Pizza

As you can see, you can really grill just about anything!  Even if you aren’t a big meat eater, you can grill up all sorts of tasty fruits and vegetables that could make a fantastic side dish or even a big roasted vegetable salad for a main dish.

I challenge you to pull out that grill this summer and try out some of your favorite foods on the grill!  (Just make sure you Google how long and at what temperature your food should be grilled at as it can vary.)
